1. Change in address of Indian Visa Application Centre

The Indian Visa Application Centre in Beijing is being shifted to a new location and will be operational from new location w.e.f.18th July 2016 (Monday). Address and contact details of the new location are as follows:

During the period from 13.07.2016 to 15.07.2016, all visa applicants (including Private Passport holders) are requested to submit their visa applications directly in the Embassy at No.5, Liang ma qiao Bei Jie, Chaoyang District, Beijing, from 11.00 AM to 01.00 PM and again from 2.00 PM to 04.00 PM.

2. Scaling down of visa issuance process during 23-27, May 2016

In view of the for thcoming VVIP visit being handled by the Embassy of India, Beijing, the visa issuance system by the Embassy will be scaled down during the period from 23-27 May 2016. All visa applicants who plan to travel to India during the period mentioned above are requested to apply for visa in advance.

3. Important Notice: Prohibition on Unauthorized Use of Satellite Phones

This is to inform all visitors to India including foreign nationals that bringing in or using satellite phones (e.g Thuraya, Iridium etc.) in India without prior permission / license from the relevant Indian authorities is prohibited under Indian law.

2). Any passenger carrying satellite phone/ phones via baggage is required to declare the same to Customs on arrival and produce permission for use from the concerned authority.

3). Any individual found to be in possession of an unauthorized satellite phone in India is liable to be prosecuted as per Indian law, and all unauthorized sets found in possession of the individual will be seized by Indian law enforcement agencies.

4). Visitors and tourists coming to India are advised to comply with Indian laws and not bring in or use satellite phones in India without obtaining specific permission / license in advance from the concerned authorities.

4. Notice regarding visa to India for the purpose of entering into surrogacy arrangements

Any person seeking a visa to India for the purpose of entering into a surrogacy arrangement must ascertain beforehand whether the law of that country permits surrogacy and will provide appropriate travel documents to the child for accompanying the surrogate parents. Entering into surrogacy arrangements under any other visa not sought for surrogacy is punishable under Indian law.
